Some of our Church Leaders are confusing me…



I have this weird feeling that some of our church leaders seem to enjoy attending funerals and seeing marriages breaking. Why do I say so, how can someone who declares himself/herself God chosen clearly see something dangerous on your path and not warn you of the impending danger? And when another person warns you about it, they get infuriated, and even rebuke the people who want to save your life in the name of the bible. Am very confused…

As a church leader you are privileged to know intimate details of your members, and that is why you know when one is very active outside his/her matrimonial home because they have confided in you. And am sure you know if they do not use a condom there is a very high chance that they may get a sexually transmitted infection which they will in turn bring home infect their faithful partner. Who, when they discover what has been brought home, as a result of unfaithfulness, May, depending of their human reaction commit suicide, kill the partner, file for a divorce etc as a result of the betrayal. Yet in your many counseling session you did not even float the idea of using protection as one of the many options available, for the simple reason that you are against condoms.

And hence the chilling thoughts which translate into questions, do the church leaders really have the best interests of their church members at heart? If the sex subject is too sensitive for them to tackle, why throw stones to the people who are courageous enough to deal with the subject.

Have church leaders also considered if they allow more people to die or marriages to break that translates to a dent in the offering basket. And it erroneous to act as if all the tithes given come from white collar jobs and the Jua kali sector. If they gladly receive the tithes and offerings why condemn some of the paraphernalia of trade. It should not matter.

Church leaders make up your minds…

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. What I construed from the advert is that the woman is not having her nocturnal exercises at home and hence her need to keep a side dish to provide  those essential services. Am sure there are many valid reasons in homes that are driving couples to leave their matrimonial beds. That, I think is what the church leaders should be addressing, not the sheath they choose for protection. We need to know why respectable men/women feel the need to quench their thirst away from home. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Take for example the now common words ‘ Gini Wesikawo ” when these words were spoken by supporters of one team who were shouting to the supporters of the opposing team, even before a football match was over that they have taken the trophy the same words have now evolved or transformed until they are featuring in adverts as a way of bidding us goodbye. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
