Men! Not everything belongs to you…Seriously!

It has to been assumed that women are possessive but I think possessiveness has many aspects. I think men have been socialized to believe all the good or convenient things belong to them and when girls or women happen to enjoy using an item they feel belongs to them; they always tend to remind someone that the said item is not unisex.

Men, just because you grew up using something or seeing other men using some specific items that does not mean they belong exclusively to men and when women use the same items you feel the need to remind us that they belongs to you.

When men see a woman with a wallet they mostly likely will remind you that a wallet belongs to them and even make such a fuss about it. And if by good luck they are not able to say it they fidget and keep staring at the holder of the wallet, their body language always betrays them, because they look like they are about to choke on the unsaid words.  Does it mean just because men are the ones who often use the wallet women cannot use them without the constant reminder? Come on guys give us a break!

What you fail to understand is wallets are very convenient, one is able to put her important documents together and they are safe when in jeans or a trouser that has pockets, instead of carrying the purse especially where some outdoor activities would not warrant carrying a purse.

When some men come to a woman’s house and they find screw drivers, a hammer, nails, pliers, it becomes such a big deal. Men, there are women who are technicians they are required to have those implements, so stop frowning and besides there is nowhere those things are written they belong to men for example. Made in Kenya or made for men.

A woman wearing a trouser to some men is a big crime because trousers are for men. I hear trousers are not very healthy for men and especially these days when some men are wearing skin tights. There are recommendations that men should wear loose fitting clothing, reason being an engine needs to have good air circulation. And that is why power supplies, engines have a fan inside somewhere which ensures that an engine is always cool; I wonder why men do not use the same principle. And leave the trousers to women…

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
