CORD! How much will the dialogue conference cost me?....



CORD, am all for dialogue and talks about all that is happening and am just as concerned as you are, but on the other hand I have my own reservations regarding how much it will cost me, am afraid and my fears are genuine I may not afford to cater for your expensive tastes. Am overtaxed, I get depressed when I see how much tax I pay and I do not see where the money goes.

If you are really honest about the dialogue the venue does not matter. Why don’t you agree to have that old friendly discussions with the government and get to raise your pertinent issues there, the president is very generous with cups of tea at state house and since I have already paid for those ones I recommend you take that.

I know there is a sense of importance that comes with hiring a powerful executive hall, and the car door being held for you as you alight from your fuel guzzlers, sitting at a big rectangular table while some of you doze off during the proceedings, only to later hold joint press conference after fake handshakes. Serious for the sake of this country why don’t you forfeit all the drama. You do not even have to announce to us that you have held the meeting we just want to see changes, you can blow your trumpets through your autobiographies once Kenya as improved. This country belongs to all of us and it is the high time all of you (CORD & Jubilee alike) starts, making some sacrifices, because you are nighttime lovers who shake hands during the day, hoping you will never be found out.

CORD, just out of curiosity where had you planned to hold the conference and who was to foot the bill and how much was the sitting allowance. It is good to know seeing that I might dig back to my empty pockets for coins.

CORD when doing a good deed do not announce it, so that the God who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. What I construed from the advert is that the woman is not having her nocturnal exercises at home and hence her need to keep a side dish to provide  those essential services. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Take for example the now common words ‘ Gini Wesikawo ” when these words were spoken by supporters of one team who were shouting to the supporters of the opposing team, even before a football match was over that they have taken the trophy the same words have now evolved or transformed until they are featuring in adverts as a way of bidding us goodbye. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
