Stop glorifying the devil…


Imagine you are with your sweetheart and then another person who hates you, hates your family actually if God gave them permission they could cannibalize after killing you.

When you are dealing with someone who passionately hates you, am sure you do not spend your time trying to find out what they eat, how they dress, you are actually not interested in what they are doing but you are cautious about them and you do not let yourself forget that they are your enemy and any careless move on your side could get you killed.

Am sure you cannot take your sweet heart on a nice dinner date and in between the conversation you keep referring to the enemy wondering what their intentions are, what they are doing or what they are scheming for you.

That, my friends, is exactly what we do with the devil. On one hand we have Jesus and his love for us and protection and on the other hand the devil. Yet we spend most of our time wondering what he is doing, what his next plan of action is so that we can paralyze it.

The point is, we exalt the devil so much until Jesus our sweetheart wonders what kind of a date we went on. I mean there is no conversation or sentence that can end without Christians including the devil in it. What would you do if your date kept mentioning their ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends in their conversation am sure most of you would flee. Your sentiments are Jesus’s sentiments.

I wish we can start seeing the greatness of God and become real believers because once you believe you will definitely talk about what you believe. Now, that raises the question do we really believe in the greatness of God or is it just lip service, if we believed we could be confident that God will see us through whatever it is or any mess we are in and instead of seeing the devil we see the great and loving God who is able to do exceedingly above what we can think or imagine.

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. What I construed from the advert is that the woman is not having her nocturnal exercises at home and hence her need to keep a side dish to provide  those essential services. Am sure there are many valid reasons in homes that are driving couples to leave their matrimonial beds. We need to know why respectable men/women feel the need to quench their thirst away from home. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Take for example the now common words ‘ Gini Wesikawo ” when these words were spoken by supporters of one team who were shouting to the supporters of the opposing team, even before a football match was over that they have taken the trophy the same words have now evolved or transformed until they are featuring in adverts as a way of bidding us goodbye. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
