Don’t Ditch Your Bad Girl to Marry a Church Girl...


There is a myth that is as old as Christianity in Kenya and I attribute it to infidelity and breakage of most marriages.

Paul asked Galatians “you foolish Galatians! Who put a spell on you?” simply put who bewitched you? “How can you be so foolish? You began by God’s spirit; do you now want to finish by your own power”? At this juncture am posing the same question to men. Who the heck bewitched you! And made you ditch the bad girl who complemented you, the bad girl who you experimented with, who together you learnt what you know now and the bad girl who did things to you that you still treasure just to marry a church girl.

I have nothing against church girls, but I am a firm believer that, people should marry their own kind. Men delude themselves that bad girls are not wife material and they do not make good mothers; there are other things that matter even after the kids have come. If those other things did not matter why are you now in extra marital affairs? Why is your marriage on the rocks with your church girl?

You see your church girl may not be so open to do some of the things your enjoyed doing with your bad girl, with your bad girl, you had so many things in common, you complemented each other, you found each other when both of you were fresh and you clicked, you found each other when both of you had nothing to hide from one another, I believe the bad girl was God’s choice and match for you. But you decided to forfeit all that because of a myth, a myth that describes church girls as wife material and mother material.

Men seriously you do not think you are not bewitched? Proverb says “A man can inherit a house and money from his parents, but only the Lord gives him a sensible wife”… another verse “find a wife and you find a good thing; it shows that the Lord is good to you”… ditching your bad girl to marry a church girl was a big blunder, who knows maybe just maybe the bad girl was God’s choice for you.

It is unfortunate that some have lost the love of their lives because of a myth. If you had married your bad girl, you could not be having extra marital affairs now.

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. What I construed from the advert is that the woman is not having her nocturnal exercises at home and hence her need to keep a side dish to provide  those essential services. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
