What’s wrong with picking my nose…



According to the African culture mothers unblocked the nostrils of their babies and toddlers by sucking the mucus out with their mouth. Disgusting! but mums can do anything for their kids.

When you are grown up and your mother cannot do the sucking business on you, it is expected that you pick your nose clean. Because nobody wants to see some particles or what looks like tiny pieces of meat hanging inside. That is how as a kid one learns to remove the clog in their nostrils what I do not understand is when it became uncouth. Seriously!

These days’ grown-ups with modernization use cotton swabs but that is still picking your nose. Others use handkerchiefs, and it looks nice using a clean maybe white hanky but you are still removing those gummy things the only joy taker is you do not get to enjoy the nice feeling of removing it from your nose and rolling it into a tiny like ball which you either eat or drop.

People life is too short. Relax the rules a bit and stop taking all the joys of life way…

I still cannot understand what the hullabaloo is all about with the condom advert. My view, that advert makes a lot of sense. The makers of the advert are realistic and admitting that married people are having illicit sex or enjoying the forbidden fruits outside of their matrimonial homes. What I construed from the advert is that the woman is not having her nocturnal exercises at home and hence her need to keep a side dish to provide  those essential services. Am sure there are many valid reasons in homes that are driving couples to leave their matrimonial beds. We need to know why respectable men/women feel the need to quench their thirst away from home. Luo is a Romantic Language…

In my short or long stay on this earth I have had the privilege of interacting with many of the languages spoken in Kenya and one dialect I would say has stood out and I have come to love is the Luo dialect. The dialect according to me is very romantic; it should actually be classified among the others of the world which are regarded as romantic. The way their words flow, as they speak, one has no option but to enjoy listening. This is a language, firstly the words rhyme so well with English language; secondly a word can be used in so many instances until one gets confused. Take for example the now common words ‘ Gini Wesikawo ” when these words were spoken by supporters of one team who were shouting to the supporters of the opposing team, even before a football match was over that they have taken the trophy the same words have now evolved or transformed until they are featuring in adverts as a way of bidding us goodbye. Masaku sevens ….I hear it was a show to behold….

I have really been thinking a lot about what I hear happened during Masaku 7’s. And mind you though being in Machakos on that day I got home early before all the free live movies started. So I just heard just like some of you. No wonder people say free things are not good. In one way or the other let us be glad it happened now in broad day light the last time Masaku sevens was in Machakos the young people were discreet they did their mating in the darkness where their parents could not see them and the consequences of what happened at night were visible the following morning with the littering of their implements of trade.
